Community Foundations Serving North Carolina members have pledged to adopt and implement new national standards for U.S. community foundations.

The standards were developed by the Council on Foundations in 2000 to describe best practices and exemplary policies in important areas such as governance and fiscal accountability, client service, grantmaking, and community leadership.  An intensive compliance confirmation process was launched in 2005.  Find out more about national standards of excellence for U.S. community foundations.
